Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef 80/20 blend
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons ketchup
- 4 tablespoons mustard
- 4 leaves of lettuce
- 8 slices of pickles
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 slices of tomato
- Butter for toasting buns
Instructions:
Preheat your Blackstone griddle over high heat
Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and form them into balls
Place the balls on the hot griddle and immediately press them down using a spatula to smash them into thin patties
Season with salt and pepper
Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges start to crisp and the patties develop a good sear
Flip the patties and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes
Add a slice of American cheese to each patty and let it melt
While the patties are cooking, spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each hamburger bun and ketchup and mustard on the top half
Remove the patties from the griddle and let them rest briefly
In the same griddle, add a bit of butter and toast the hamburger buns until golden brown
Assemble your burgers by placing lettuce leaves on the bottom bun, followed by a tomato slice, two pickles, a couple of onion slices, and then the double cheeseburger patty
Close the burger with the top bun, and your Insanity Double Smash Burger is ready to enjoy!
